Key Note Speaker

Daniel Kuhn

Daniel Kuhn, MSW

Daniel Kuhn is the Director of the Professional Training Institute for the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, based in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a master's degree in social work at the University of Illinois in Chicago and is a licensed clinical social worker. He has been active in the fields of health care and aging with several organizations in his native Chicago for the past 35 years. Dan routinely gives presentations on family caregiving and dementia care issues at local and national conferences. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 books, book chapters, articles, training manuals, and videos. His most recent book co-authored with Jane Verity is The Art of Dementia Care. Dan was the recipient of the 2009 Mental Health and Aging Award by the American Society on Aging. He is currently principal investigator of a research project involving palliative care for people with advanced dementia.
